Miami New Times | New Program Gives Downtown Restaurants More Outdoor Space
Thursday, July 30, 2020In response to the amended emergency order signed by Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez on July 6, which limits restaurants to outdoor seating only owing to a surge in the spread of COVID-19, the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has launched a Sidewalk Café Permit Program that allows downtown Miami restaurants to utilize the public-right-of-way to add or expand outdoor seating areas.
