Downtown Miami is a major employment center within the state of Florida. According to our 2018 Demographics study, an estimated 175,000 professionals come to work in our community every day, Monday – Friday. While the majority of this workforce works in offices for small businesses and large multinationals alike, there is also a strong presence of global and local retail brands. Downtown is home to Miami Dade College’s main campus and the offices of the Miami-Dade Government and as a result, it’s no wonder that these two sectors employ the largest amount of downtown’s workforce. However, look beyond these two industries and you’ll see a thriving professional services sector representing big and small law and accounting firms in addition to a growing and thriving international banking and finance community. Gaining momentum and drawing quite a bit of attraction is downtown’s technology industry.
